Your geyser burns money all day long
Even if you bathe only once a day, it keeps reheating water that nobody touches.
Watch the demoBharat Smart Plug lets your geyser heat only for the time you set, or on your daily schedule — then the power goes off.
Takes 30 seconds. Answers in rupees, not units.

“My geyser has auto cut-off, so nothing is wasted”
The geyser switches off by itself once the water is hot. So leaving the switch on costs me nothing.
Auto cut-off only stops heating — it does not switch off the geyser. The tank keeps losing heat, so every 20–30 minutes the element turns back on and reheats the same water. Again and again, all day. Even if you bathe only in the morning.
Same geyser. Same bath. One switch.
One full day, 6 AM to midnight. Left: the geyser reheats the same water again and again. Right: the plug cuts power and the water simply cools on its own — costing nothing.

Power cut off after the bathWhat is your geyser really costing you?
Three quick questions. Answer honestly — the numbers only help if they are real.
One forgotten day alone costs you about ₹9 extra.
One full day of your geyser
Green is heating the water you actually use. Red is money burnt reheating water nobody touched.

| What we counted | Without plug | With plug |
|---|---|---|
| Baths per day | 2 | 2 |
| Hot water used per day | 30 L | 30 L |
| Energy to heat that water | 1.40 | 1.40 |
| Hours the geyser stays powered | 8.4 h | 0.5 h |
| Energy lost to reheating | 0.59 | 0.04 |
| Total units per day | 1.99 | 1.43 |
| Cost per day | ₹15.9 | ₹11.4 |
| Cost per month | ₹484 | ₹348 |
| Cost per year | ₹4,597 | ₹3,310 |
- Heating water is simple physics:
litres × °C rise × 1.163 ÷ efficiencywatt-hours. For a 15 L geyser going from 22°C to 60°C that is about 0.70 units — one full heat-up. - A hot tank keeps leaking heat into the room. For a 15 L tank that is about 0.070 units every hour it stays powered — that is the geyser silently reheating itself. Bigger tanks lose more.
- So:
units per day = heat-ups + (hours powered × hourly loss). - These numbers are anchored to real meter readings on a 15 L geyser: 2.39 units/day when the switch was left on, and 0.70 units/day with a smart plug cutting power after the bath.
- We assume you use the geyser for 9.5 months a year (summer months skipped) at ₹8 per unit.
